Choosing an office
Contact the Hong Kong office for general enquiries and local coordination, the airport office for air-cargo assignments, and Shenzhen or Yantian for the relevant mainland locations. The office will confirm arrangements for assignments elsewhere.
Information to include
Provide your name, company and contact details; the cargo or incident description; shipping or reference numbers; the location, available access and required timing; and the questions to be addressed. Include available invoices, packing lists, transport documents and photographs.
If damage has just been discovered
Arrange examination promptly, retain packaging and relevant records where possible, and notify the carrier and insurer. Coordinate unpacking or disposal so that the evidence can be recorded before its condition changes.

Hench was registered in Hong Kong in 1987 and in mainland China in 2009.
Which services are available?
The 19 service areas include cargo and container surveys, pre-shipment checks, damage assessment, vessel handover surveys, heavy lifting, lashing, investigations and related specialist assignments.
Can Hench inspect air cargo?
The Hong Kong International Airport office coordinates air-cargo enquiries. Provide the flight, handling terminal and cargo availability details.
Can mainland assignments be arranged?
The Shenzhen and Yantian office network supports coordination of mainland work. Confirm the location, access and scope with the relevant office.
What should I do if cargo is damaged?
Contact the relevant office promptly, preserve the packaging and records where possible, and notify the carrier and insurer. The survey records evidence; claim procedures remain separate.
