Loading, discharge and transshipment
Surveyors attend terminals, warehouses and inland depots to record cargo condition, quantities, container identification and handling. Observations at each handover help establish when discrepancies became apparent.
Seal discrepancies
Seal numbers are compared with the available shipping records. Missing, damaged or mismatched seals are photographed and documented before opening where practicable; the report distinguishes observations from any proposed explanation.
Full-container and consolidated shipments
Both FCL and LCL cargo can be inspected. For consolidated consignments, marks, package counts and individual shipments are checked against the relevant documents to reduce confusion at unpacking.
Damage, shortage and reporting
Checks cover wetting, condensation, crushing, contamination, odours and shortages. Photographs, counts and the handling sequence support a clear factual report for shippers, carriers and insurers.
